Initial NERIS Department Setup
Follow these instructions to connect to your department in NERIS from the Fire Station online platform. This must be completed before entering any NERIS incidents.
You may access the Fire Station online platform by going to online.firestationsoftware.com and signing in with your FSSID.
Connecting a NERIS Department
Your department in Fire Station may be connected to a department in NERIS. Follow these steps to make that connection.
Your FSSID must have the NERIS Manager permission assigned to complete these steps.
Expand the "Admin" section in the sidebar and click the "NERIS Settings" link. On mobile devices click the
On mobile devices, tap the menu bar at the top of the screen to access the main menu.
You will be brought to the NERIS settings page. Select the NERIS environment that you want to connect to using the dropdown menu near the bottom of the page.
You may connect to a different NERIS environment at any time. For example, you can connect to the NERIS Testing environment now, to try out NERIS, then you may connect to the NERIS Production environment later on. You can only connect to one NERIS environment at a time. Disconnecting from one environment and connecting to another environment will not delete any NERIS incidents you have created; however, you will have to re-submit NERIS incidents when connecting to a new NERIS environment.
Once your NERIS environment has been selected, click the "Get Started" button and enter your NERIS username & password when prompted.
Then, you will be prompted to enter a login verification code. Enter the verification code that was sent to your email, then click "Continue" to sign in.
Next, you will see a list of NERIS departments that you are a member of. Click the name of the department that you want to connect Fire Station to.
This will configure Fire Station to link to the NERIS department you clicked. Fire Station will now try to grant permission to the Fire Station NERIS Integration in your NERIS department (using the username & password you just entered).
If you are not a department administrator in NERIS you will see the following message and you must sign into NERIS and grant access to Fire Station using the integration Client ID shown. Once this is complete click the "Continue" button to close the modal.
If you are a department administrator in NERIS you may not see this pop-up because Fire Station will be able to automatically add the Fire Station NERIS Integration to your department in NERIS.
Once you have selected your department (and added the integration Client ID to your department in NERIS, if needed) you will see the NERIS Settings page. Click the "Verify Access" button to ensure that Fire Station can connect to your NERIS department.

If the connection fails, you will see an error message like this:
If you see the error message "invalid_client" ensure that you have granted access to the Fire Station NERIS Integration's Client ID in your NERIS Department. If you need the Client ID value it can be accessed by clicking the "NERIS Settings" in the "Admin" menu section.
At this point the NERIS setup is complete but no Apparatus or Stations have been mapped. Follow the instructions below to finish setting this up.
